Apparently "Central Electronics, Incorporated" based in Chicago, was a subsidiary of the Zenith Radio Corporation. All of the larger radio manufacturers had their own divisions for producing test equipment. And the same is true for manufacturers of ham radio equipment. Some of these instruments are very specialized and therefore interesting.
The MM-2 probably stands for "modulation monitor", model 2. There was a previous version, the MM-1, see schematic below.
This unit is in very good condition, seems to be original.
