Comments:
This oscilloscope was a low cost unit by Clough Brengle. It is very compact for its time and comparable to the RCA 151.
The mechanical design of this scope is also interesting. Working on some of the components inside is not easy. Probably the reason why this design did not become more popular.
The little terminal strip on the side allows access to the vertical deflection plates. If shorted, the vertical amplifier is connected to the deflection plates.
The socket (4 pole) on the side has connections to Ground, Horizontal Input and External Sweep.
Buying a low cost scope in 1937 ($50) still meant to pay about half of an average month's salary.
