Manufacturer: CLOUGH BRENGLE CO. (USA)
Model: CRAR, S#1103
Vintage: 1935
Purpose: General Purpose, Radio & TV Service
Condition: Unknown
Comments:
The oscilloscope is the rack type of the CRA, therefore the R at the end, making it CRAR. This scope is part of a test rack, model 1060. The other units in the rack are 110R (Signal Generator S#1195), 111R (Frequency Modulator S#1229), 79BR (Audio Oscillator S#556).
The circuit of the CRAR is supposingly the same as the CRA but the chassis is definitely different. The inside appears original and in very good condition. Disassembling the rack and its units is not as easy as you would think of a rack-type construction.
This model is first mentioned in 1935 catalogs and the whole rack sold for $245. Some perspective... the average annual salary that year was $1500 and a car cost $580.
