The 164-E model must have been a good success for DuMont. It was used by the military as well as commercially. Thousands of 164-E scope were built. It is an improved version of the model 164.
This particular scope originated as a model 164 and then was promoted to 164-E. This indicates that around S#2700, DuMont stopped making the 164.
For some reason the pictures did not come out very well. It is nicer than the pictures indicate, a true survivor, almost original.
