Manufacturer: SYLVANIA (USA)
Model: 132, S#2500
Vintage: 1947
Purpose: General Purpose
Condition: Original
Comments:
This unit is in wonderful condition for its age. I doubt it was used much. A letter, addressed to original owner, states that Sylvania admits to possible issues with certain capacitors. This indicates to me that there might have been some issues with this kind of scope. This could be another reason why they are so rare. Workmanship of the scope is good, but may be the parts were lower quality. These scopes were built right after WWII. The 7in CRT is impressive. Note that in 1949 the average annual income was $3000, so the scope cost about half a month's salary. A new car cost about $1500.
