Manufacturer: General Radio Company (USA)
Model: 707-A, S#297
Vintage: 1942(?)
Purpose: Cathode Ray Null Detector
Condition: Not Tested
Comments:
This is a basic oscilloscope used for balancing an impedance bridge. It does not have a sweep generator (Thyratron). The sweep is either line frequency or an external signal. This is used for the X deflection. The Y input is very sensitive (for that era) and the resulting Lissajous figure will indicate the balance of both signals. The CRT is a RCA 913.
I have no idea how many of these instruments survived but I hope many because it so well built and such a great example of quality engineering and manufacturing.
